American Roulette

About American Roulette

American Roulette is a variation of the classic roulette game where the wheel contains 38 sectors: numbers from 1 to 36, one sector "0" and one sector "00". This version is popular in North American casinos. The presence of an extra "00" increases the house edge, making American Roulette riskier for players.

Rules of the game

Players place bets before the spin, choosing specific numbers, colors (red or black), odd or even numbers, groups of numbers, or sectors, such as small (1-18) and large (19-36) ranges. Each type of bet has its own odds and associated payout ratio: the lower the odds, the higher the potential winnings.

Payouts depend on the bet selected. A straight-up bet pays 35 to 1, and bets on large groups such as odd/even or color pay 1 to 1. The extra "00" sector in American roulette increases the house edge over the European version by one "0", making the American version riskier for players.

After bets are placed, the dealer spins the wheel in one direction and launches the ball in the opposite direction. When the wheel slows down, the ball stops in one of the numbered sectors, which determines the outcome of the game.
